Precious Little Ones

Happy Weekend All!
The other day I took the opportunity to step away from my design team work and upcoming craft show projects, to join in a couple fun challenges out in blogland ... (thanks Diane).

The sketch I have used for today's creation comes from the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 Challenge Blog and my theme comes from the Tic Tac Toe Challenge Blog.

Here's the sketch ...

And, here's the Tic Tac Toe Board

Recently I purchased some new designer paper packs (like I need more paper!  Geesh!) from the Dies R Us Store  ... did you know they are now carrying papers, inks, etc.? ... and what fun I had using these coordinating papers from the Carta Bella 'Rock-a-Bye Baby' 6x6 pack.

In following the sketch, I used the Tutti Designs 'Stitched Hearts', Sue Wilson 'Passion Flower' and 'Maiden Fern' dies.  The enamel dots I believe are by Cloud 9 and were purchased years ago at Joann Fabrics.

My sweet image is from a sheet of vintage images by Nellie's Choice.  The artist is Sandra Kuck.  Did you know Sandra Kuck is from a small town here in Ohio (East Liverpool).  Yep!  And fun fact, my sister who has been a hair dresser for years, did the hair of the one little girl that Sandra Kuck was using as a model for her designs.  Small world isn't it!  LOL

I love it when I can put two challenges together and create such a sweet card!  A huge thank you to all those folks out there that create challenges that keep us inspired and help us 'push' our limits.

Challenges to share in:
613 Avenue Create Challenge #206 - ATG twist/Love (this is love between a Mother & her children)
 Angie's Digital Stamps Challenge #17 - ATG twist/Love
Dragonfly Dreams February Challenge - Flowers

Have a great day and week ahead!
Can you believe it?  It's supposed to be 66 degrees here in Akron, OH on Thursday!
Yikes and it's still February!  But that's how the weather rolls here in Ohio.
Snow one day and warm sunshine the next!

Thanks for stopping by ... hope you've found inspiration in my designs!
As always . . .

Butterfly Kisses

Happy Day All!

Today I'm excited to share a card with you that was created
using one of the new Cheapo Dies and I'm honored
to have been asked to be a Guest Designer for their new Blog launch.

This new Cheapo Die company has some fun dies and as
the name implies, they are very reasonably priced.
They cut so nicely, and that is always a plus in my book!!

I have created a very simple design to showcase this pretty die.
My background paper is from the Ella & Viv 'Ethereal Kit' 12 x 12 paper
pack.  I have used Lawn Fawn 'Cross Stitched' Rectangle dies to create
my frame and purple sequins to embellish.

I die cut the Sideview Butterfly 4 times.  Twice in black and
twice from Recollections floral patterned paper.  Then
adhered them together off setting the black cuts to
create a shadow affect.

You'll want to be sure to check out this new CHEAPO DIE company and
don't forget to check out their BLOG.  They have a fabulous design team
who will be sharing daily inspiration using a variety of dies carried in the store.

A few challenges I'd like to share in:
Butterfly Challenge #95 - Spin the Wheel 'P' ... I used purple & patterned paper
Mix It Up Challenge #10 - ATG - Clean & Simple

Thanks so much for stopping by today
and I hope you have a FABULOUS week ahead!

It's Twofer Time . . .

Hello Everyone and Happy Saturday!
What is she talking about you ask (after reading the title of this post) LOL?

Well, Darnell has started a new challenge blog and it's a FUN one!
It's called the Twofer Card Challenge and you can find the details HERE.

Sounds pretty easy right?
Crazy as it sounds, it had me stumped for awhile but then a light bulb came on and I FINALLY figured out what I wanted to create for this fun challenge. The one rule I found interesting in this challenge is that we are to include both cards in one photograph!  So, here we go . . .

The SAME die I used is the Memory Box 'Loveland Corner' die #99117.

Image result for memory box die loveland corner

My first card is a wedding card and besides the corner die, I have created an oval frame using the Tutti Designs 'Scalloped Stitched Nesting Dies' for the Sparkle 'N Sprinkle sentiment.  Adding a few extra popped out hearts from the die cut and this card is ready to mail.

Secondly, using the same corner die, is a Get Well card that I think will lift the spirits of anyone dealing with an illness.  And Lord knows there's enough of that going around right now!

This time after die cutting my corner panels from black card stock I covered the 'heart' locations with Prima flowers.  A few of the hearts that popped out of the die cut were used on the inside panel.

So there you have it ... a fun new challenge and now I have TWO additional cards to add to my stash!  YAY!  Plus it helped get my mojo going.  Can't wait to see what Darnell has up her sleeve next!!  She's such a HOOT!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Dies R Us Inspiration - Mr & Mrs

Hello Friends!
How was your Valentine's Day?
Can you believe we are already half way through February?
Today I have a card to share for the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog
and, since I was in need of some wedding cards in my show stash,
that's the direction I went in today!

One of the dies I used on this card I've had for quite some time and never think to use it and the other two I purchased recently.  This was so quick & easy, I think I will created a few more in different colors.  You never know what folks will need for this years wedding season, but I figured you are always safe with this elegant color combination.

Sue Wilson Designs - Gemini Collection - Phoenix

Impression Obsession 'Mr & Mrs'
Impression Obsession - Dies - Mr. & Mrs.

Poppystamps 'Gentle Hearts'

Poppystamps - Dies - Gentle Hearts
Here's the quick & easy steps taken to bring this card together...

I began with a white A6 card base, then die cut another white panel 1/4" smaller than my card base.  Using this panel I die cut my Gemini die about 2/3  in from one end.

Next I cut a black card stock panel 1/8" smaller than my white card base.
I adhered my white Gemini panel on top of the black panel then once again laid the 'edge cutting' portion of this die set (there are 3 dies in this set) slightly down from the white panel and die cut it.  This gave me the 'matting' panel I was wanting to achieve.

To add the touch of color, I used the hearts that popped out of this panel that was die cut for another project (seen here).

Here's another peek at the finished card . . .

I hope you've enjoyed what I've shared today!

Notecards & Chocolates ...

Hello All and welcome back!
Yesterday I began making another craft show project for the ladies
and this time it's a boxed set of 4 notecards w/envelopes & four wrapped
Hershey Milk Chocolate Nuggets.
I offered these at the show last Fall and sold out of them.  So I thought
I'd try it again for the Spring show.

The boxes & clear lids were purchased through
and the papers I've used on today's sets are from
DoveCraft 'Bohemian' and K&Company.

I designed a panel to adhere to the inside of the box that will match the
cards.   I've scored it to create a 'divider' between cards & nuggets.

Here's a look at those I completed yesterday.
I need to get more 4x4 envelopes before I can finish more.

Here are a few challenges I'd like to share in:

Get Creative Challenge #66 - Use Ribbon or Washi Tape
Simon Says Monday Challenge - Take Note (created Notecards)

Okay ... back to work!
Hope you have a fabulous day!

Card Sets ...

Happy Monday Morning All!

Yesterday in between a little cleaning & watching the Olympics,
I decided I will also need some boxed sets of greeting cards
for my upcoming show.  I did have a few requests for them last show
and thankfully I jotted that request down and put it in my show money box.
Otherwise ... I would have totally forgotten.
Old brain ya know ... lol!

So I came up with these two sets.  Each set has 2 Birthday, 2 Get Well & 1 Sympathy card.
The designs are different but the background paper is the same.
They are blank inside with the exception of the one that says 'Wishing you a' on the front ... of course it says Happy Birthday (same font) on the inside.

The background papers I have chosen are both from the Dove Craft 'Bohemian' 12x12 pack.

Hopefully I will have time to work up a few more 'variety' sets like these before show time.  I do have full sets of the same card (thank you ... thinking of you) already in my sale box but I think these variety packs will be a good seller.  Time will tell.

The ladies always enjoy the little projects I have to share that contain
Hershey Nuggets.  So, while at the grocery store yesterday I picked up a couple
bags of 'all milk chocolate' nuggets.  So many people have nut allergies, I have gone to using
ALL milk chocolate in my projects even though the larger packs of the variety nuggets
would be less costly and go further.  Don't need anyone getting sick!

That's it for me today!
I'm meeting a couple of friends for pie & coffee at 10 am
then it's back to the 'crafting cave'!

Have a great day / week!
As always ... thanks for stopping by and

Cards for the Red Hat Ladies . . .

Hello Everyone and Happy Sunday!
Welcome back to Dar's Crafty Creations!

As I've mention recently, I have a Spring Show coming up, and this one is a private showing for the Country Club ladies.  I've been doing this show twice a year (spring & fall) for the past 3 - 4 years and it's basically the same group of ladies.  Several of them belong to the Red Hat Society so they have come to depend on me having those 'special' cards available to them from year to year!

Time flies so yesterday I had the time available and thought I'd at least get started on them.   I'm happy to say I was able to create SIX sets of FIVE different cards.  I will also have individual cards available but they seem to like these boxed sets.  It was a successful day and I'm off to a good start!

Here are three of the six sets.
They are packaged in A2 clear boxes along with envelopes.

Inside the back of the box is a photo (see below) of all the cards inside.
This way the ladies can see what each card looks like without having to open the box.
They are all BLANK inside so they can be used for a variety of occasions.

Challenges to share in:

I hope you're having a great day!
Have you been watching the Olympics?
I think I like the Winter Olympics better than the Summer ... really
enjoying the figure skating!  Oh to be able to move that gracefully!  LOL

Thanks for stopping by and as always . . .
