Quick ... and Easy Too!

Hello Friends and Welcome Back!
Today I have a QUICK & EASY Birthday card to share.
I realized I was in need of a birthday card that HAD to be in the mailbox TODAY in order to arrive at it's destination PRIOR to my friend's birthday ... vs AFTER!  LOL
So I turned to my die cuts and created this quick, easy AND beautiful card!
Whew!  Made it just in time!

I've used 1 stamp, 2 die cuts and 3 papers.
The stamp is by Inkadinkado.
and
Spellbinder Card Creator '5x7 Reflective Moment' #S6-011

This particular Spellbinder die is not currently available in our online store, but there are so many other die sets that can be used in place of it for this sentiment panel ... i.e. Nestabilities Valiant Honor or so many of the Sue Wilson die sets ... i.e.  Spanish Collection - Seville.

The papers are Stampin' Up 'Pear Pizazz', Whisper White, and Ken Oliver 'Watercolor Memories' design paper (bold side).  And I've used dimensional tape to pop up my panel as well as added a few Kaiser pearls at the end of the sentiment.

When you are in need of an amazing (and quick) card creation ... let your die cuts do the heavy work!
Pop over to the Dies R Us store and get your order in right now!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

What fun . . .

Happy Sunday Afternoon All!
Whew ... what a busy weekend I had ... but it was SO MUCH fun!
I look forward to doing demos again in the future for Heartfelt Creations
when they are in town for the various Stamping and Scrapbooking Expos!
What a pleasure to be able to work with Heartfelt's husband & wife
team of Ben & Andrea!

Here's a peek at the card I was demoing for HFC using their
Birds and Blooms Collection and clear card stock.

I was also thrilled to meet Judy Campbell whom I've communicated with online
for quite some time now but never had the opportunity to meet in person
until this weekend!  WHAT A TREAT!!

Well it's lunchtime so I'd better go see if hubby's
in need of a bite to eat!  Then back to 'catching up'
here in the cave!

Thanks Heartfelt Creations for this wonderful opportunity!
Enjoy your day everyone!

On This Special Day . . .

Hello Dear Friends!

As my busy weekend begins,  I wanted to
take the time and play a couple challenges that caught my eye!

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, over the next few days I'm thrilled to say I will be doing
demo's once again for Heartfelt Creations at the John S. Knight Center in downtown Akron, OH
for the Scrapbook Expo.  If you are in the area, please come on over and say Hello!

The two challenges I had in mind when creating this card were:
Scor-Pal Challenge -WEDDINGS (using more than one score line)
and
Butterfly Challenge - BUTTERFLIES & F is for FLOWERS

I also intended to enter into the current Anything Goes Challenges at Cheery Lynn Designs, but I totally forgot they only accept one entry and I placed yesterday's wedding card in as an entry so will have to play along with them another time.

I've created for you one of my favorite fancy folds and that is a Tri Shutter card fold.
I will be sharing the measurements and scoring instructions for this fancy fold each in July.  So if you don't already have instruction on this fold, please pop back on July 6th for that information.

I recently purchased some new dies from Dies R Us and just could not wait to put them to use.  Here is a list of dies used on today's card:

Spellbinder Shapeabilities - Bitty Blossoms #S5-086
Spellbinder Nestabilities - Circle Delight #S4-511
Spellbinder Card Creator - 5x7 Reflective Moment #S6-011
Cheery Lynn Designs - Exotic Butterfly Small #DL113
Cheery Lynn Designs - Dutch Daisy Doily #DL281
Die Versions - Just Married #DVSW-038
Memory Box - Precious Wedding Rings #98860

Every wedding card required a touch of sparkle in some manner ... so on the front of my card I have drawn a circle of Diamond Stickles around the focus sentiment as well as on each of the flourish points.

Stamps used are:
Flourishes (no longer in business) ... the inside bride/groom.
JustRite - Celebration Labels One & Bracket Borders One #CR04460

Mr. & Mrs.

Hello Friends!
It's time once again for a new challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters!
Have you noticed our new header/badges ... 'New Sister' Sandi created them for us and I think they are fabulous.  Truly depicts 'The Sisterhood' ...

Anyways ... today's theme since we are in the wedding month of June is

WEDDING
(create a wedding card/project)

Here's what I came up with ...

I had such a difficult time capturing the 'sparkle' in my photos,
so here are a few closeups for you.
This card is SO MUCH PRETTIER IRL!!!   Uugh!

You can never go wrong with Black & White for a wedding card ...
no matter what the wedding party colors may be ...
so that was my thought behind today's card.

Want to know a secret?  Sssshhh ...
This card was put together with pieces that had been cut
for other projects but not used ... just laying around!
Black background ... butterfly border ... flowers
Ok I must admit I did die cut the Bride/Groom ... but that's all one die set ... so this card came together really fast!!!  LOL!  LOVE when that happens.

Challenges:
Memory Box Challenge #1 - Butterflies
Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge - Anything Goes
Open Minded Challenge - Vintage (final challenge)
Simon Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
Die Cut Divas - Wedding or Anniversary
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes

Die Cutting Inspiration

Morning All!
It's Tuesday once again, and that means I have a die cutting inspiration piece to share with you today for the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog.  If you've never popped over to our Inspiration Blog, you are missing out on some awesome card samples/ideas using die cuts.  Please take a minute and stop by.

Today I decided to do not one but TWO cards
using the same dies ... just in a little different way.
Here are the two cards I made for you today:

The dies I have used on my cards are:

Inside View

The design paper I used on both cards is from SandyLion.com and has been in my stash for YEARS!  I thought it worked well with the Ashby Corner die ... the flower patterns are very similar!  The blue card stock I used is from Stampin' Up and it's an older IN color called 'Marina Mist'.

I decided to use the 'St. Barts' die set to adorn the inside (top panel) of my card, hence leaving the 'writing panel' open for a personal note which I thought was necessary with the sentiment verse I chose for the front.

CARD #2 ...

For my second card I chose to use the St. Bart's die a little more extensively on the front bringing attention to the sentiment verse I chose ... (and find myself repeating to myself more and more as I get older! lol).   Though a little difficult to see, I popped up the sentiment panel to help add dimension to my card and still keep it mailable.

Since the Ashby Corner die blends more with the color of the paper, I decided to add White Liquid Pearls to the flower centers which really draws your eye.  I also used it for the center on my Delicate Daisy flower.
I hope you've enjoyed today's card creations!

Remember, you can see NEW die cutting card samples on our Inspiration Blog EACH DAY Monday through Friday.  Also I hope you'll come join in our challenges.  A new challenge goes up on the 1st and 15th of each month over on our Dies R Us Challenge BlogAND ... there's a prize offered!

Thanks for stopping by!
As always ...

June Birthdays . . .

Happy Weekend Friends ...
Do you have a lot of June birthdays to celebrate in your life?
I sure seem to!
Both of my sisters, my niece, a couple close friends AND
the little neighbor girl Emily!  Oh yes, if you follow my blog, you've
seen Emily's name (and a photo here & there) over the years.  LOL!

Well, today's is Emily's birthday party and I always try to make something SPECIAL for both her and her sister Olivia when their birthdays roll around.  Here's what I came up with for Emily this year.

I saw the pattern for this adorable little purse over on Pinterest and thought it would be the perfect little 'something' to put some cash in for Miss Emily!

Didn't it turn out cute?

Emily is "11" this year and although in the past years I've always been sure to put the NUMBER on her birthday cards, this year I decided that was no longer necessary since she's turning into quite the 'young lady'.

Although it's cute (and course will contain $$$), it just wasn't enough of a birthday gift.
So, back to Pinterest I went and found directions for this easy to make, fabulous origami box.
Emily ALWAYS has a flower in her hair, so I decorated the top
of the box with hair flower clips.
I love when you can decorate your gift box with something useful.
She'll love them!!

Emily is a girly, girly kind of young lady who loves the color PINK (and PURPLE)
and always has her fingernails and toenails polished!
So what better gift for her today than some purple sparkly polish and
a new pink digital watch.
And no that's not a pack of cotton balls ...
it's actually a small 'Campfire' pack of mini marshmallows!

LOL ... let me explain!
When Emily (and sister Olivia) were younger, (they are all of 11 & 13 now) they'd come over to visit
and I always sent them home with either licorice or mini marshmallows!
I thought she'd get a kick out of them!  LOL!
(Of course, that is after she shoots me a look of inquisitiveness!)
A matching birthday card and VIOLA!~
We are ready to go to the party tonight!!!

Appreciate Dad!!

Hello Friends!
With Father's Day this weekend, I am reflecting back
to my growing up years and all the wonderful things I learned from my dad!!
Unfortunately he passed 20+ years ago
and I would give anything to have just one more day with him!

There are so many Father's Day challenges out there in blogland
and even though I have no need for a
Father's Day card myself,  I just had to join in the fun!!

I have always LOVED this 'old' (Seaside Sketches circa 2003) SU stamp and
thought it would be perfect for today's card.
I created the background using a variety of Ranger Tim Holtz distress
inks and large sponge daubers (listed below) prior to stamping my image.
Then die cut and popped up each panel for dimension.
A 'Happy Father's Day' banner and this card was DONE!!!

Challenges to share in:
Mod Squad Challenge - Father's Day
Cardz 4 Guyz Challenge - Father's Day
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Use your favorite Technique and/or product

Memory Box Butterflies

Happy Hump Day Everyone!
Last week I told you about a new monthly challenge by Memory Box
and today I have another card to share with you that
I'll be submitting to this 1st challenge which is themed 'Butterflies'.

Inside View
I love the colors on my new Ken Oliver 'Watercolored Memories' 6x6 double sided paper ... one side is muted and the other side is bold.  As you can see, today's card utilizes the bold side of the paper.
The colors are so beautifully vivid I didn't want to cover them up ...
but rather ACCENT them and by using the fabulous Memory Box Fairyland Butterflies (#99078)
I was able to achieve the look I was going for.

I die cut the MB Fairyland Butterflies TWICE then spot glued them
here and there so I could lift the outer wings and give the illusion of flight.

A simple sentiment is all that was required on
the front of my card so I chose a vertical sentiment stamped
in India Ink since the paper has a bit of a glossy finish.

Other challenges to share in:
A Gem of a Challenge - Something Blue
Crafty Catz Challenge - Clean and Simple
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes
The House that Stamps Built Challenge - Photo Inspiration

 Inky Chicks Challenge - Butterflies
CropStop Linky Party #5 - ATG with product carried at their store (Memory Box)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Have a FABULOUS day!
Till next time and as always . . .
